Share transaction editability

Whats new?

The primary fields on issuance share transactions can now be edited even after the point of creation. If the share transaction has any associated child transactions, like a transfer or repurchase, only certain fields can be edited in order to maintain data integrity.
The ‘ID’ field on all share transactions can be edited at any point in time.
The ‘ID’ field has been added to the share transaction import template.

How does it work?

On the Share Transactions screen, navigate to the ‘View Details’ page of a share transaction by clicking on the ID or selecting ‘View Details’ from the kebab menu.
Click ‘
Edit’ on the top right hand corner of the ‘View Details’ page.
The share transaction fields that can be edited will be underlined. The fields that cannot be edited will be muted. For share transaction where the primary fields cannot be edited, a blue banner will be displayed at the top of the page explaining why that share transaction cannot be edited. This is typically due to the share transaction having a child transaction, like a transfer or a repurchase. When finished making changes, click ‘
Save changes’.

The share transaction ’ID’ field can be edited on all share transactions, irrespective of whether child transactions exist. This can be edited using the same steps as outlined above.

The share transaction ‘ID’ field has been added to the share transaction import template as an optional field. Company administrators can specify which ID’s they wish to use for each imported record, or choose to leave this blank for the platform to automatically assign. If this ID field is blank, the platform will reference the current highest share transaction ID number that exists on the platform and within the import file, and then increment sequentially on top of that.

Why is it important and how am I affected?

This feature will reduce the time spent by our Customer Success and Onboarding teams in fixing incorrect issuance share transaction data provided by customers during the onboarding process. It also enables company administrators to correct erroneous data themselves by using a simple ‘edit’ and ‘save changes’ workflow.

Prior to this change, the only way to fix incorrect issuance share transaction data was to delete the share transaction record and re-input it. Now, company administrators can edit the share transaction and update the relevant fields to ensure their participants and investors have access to the correct information.
